About this production

Little Shop of Horrors is a ‘horror/comedy/rock musical’ with music by Alan Menken and lyrics and book by Howard Ashman.

Hapless flower shop assistant, Seymour, pines for co-worker Audrey. During an eclipse he discovers an unusual plant which he later finds out feeds on flesh and blood. He names the plant Audrey 2 after his unrequited love. The growing plant attracts a great deal of business for the previously struggling flower store. Seymour discovers that Audrey 2 feeds on blood and is shocked one night when the plant talks to him. The devious plant convinces Seymour to kill Audrey’s no-good boyfriend, Orin and chop him up as food. Seymour’s task gets harder as the growing plant demands more and more victims to be fed to it and in the end Seymour must choose between himself and the bloodthirsty plant.

Central were delighted to win The Eagle Award for ‘Best Production of a Musical’ for the show and Craig Arme also won ‘Best Performance by an Actor in a Musical’ for his portrayal of ‘Seymour Krelborn’
