The society raise funds throughout the year to enable charitable giving and provide the company with financial security. Ticket sales are not enough, In order to carry on presenting major shows that are of high quality the society needs to raise, on average, £5000 per year!
This statistic may seem surprising but our productions cost more to stage than we could possibly raise in ticket revenue, even if we sold 100% of seats available! We could increase our ticket prices but that would mean our audience numbers may drop during this difficult financial downturn.
Instead we have been relying on our members who attend car boot sales, organise quiz nights and other social events, provide specialist services like accounting and marketing free of charge and even, in some cases, purchase much needed equipment for use by the society.
